We’re often asked, “why now” when we share our vision for launching a Lutheran High School in eastern Iowa. In addition to the urging God placed on our hearts, there are a few tangible reasons influencing the timing of this mission.

A strong leader guides, inspires, and encourages others toward meaningful goals while developing the people and culture around them. Christian leadership, however, is filtered through the lens of Christ.

Christ Lutheran High School (CLHS), together with Zion Lutheran Church – Hiawatha, is proud to announce that they have finalized an agreement to allow CLHS to use space at Zion to launch classes.

A true and complete education is one that meets the physical, emotional, intellectual, social, and spiritual needs of students. Christ Lutheran High School, in partnership with the family, will be concerned for the whole person, starting with a firm foundation in the Christian faith.

We are all very eager for the vision of a Lutheran High School to take shape through concrete developments like buildings, staffing, and student enrollment, but there are many layers to laying a solid foundation that amplify the value of the more tangible developments — one of those layers is choosing a name.

Our board of directors has started laying a foundation for a Lutheran High School to serve the communities in/around Linn and Benton counties of eastern Iowa. We are excited to share the news of our progress.
