An Education Model Rooted in Identity and Purpose
One of our board members recently shared an excerpt from Charlie Kirk’s book “Stop, In the Name of God” that really struck a chord. The excerpt calls attention to the great irony in the abundance of food, information, and material wealth we possess, and yet the great lack of understanding our youth have for who they are, why they exist, and what they are worth.
This is the core of why Christ Lutheran High School is being developed.
Our Board of Directors believes that every individual has a distinct identity, value, and purpose.
We believe every student is fearfully and wonderfully made, and we are honored to have the opportunity to deliver an education model that helps our students understand their true identity in Christ and prepare them to become strong Christian leaders in all walks of life.
This past month, the board held deep discussions to determine the instructional framework for Christ Lutheran High School. The conversations were developed from the core of our vision, mission, and purpose and took into consideration how students would transition into CLHS from elementary schools, as well as out of CLHS.
All these considerations led us to a solution that combines the traditional Christian education model blended with components of several other models for a more comprehensive approach.
Biblical Principles
Our primary focus in educating students is to provide them the opportunity to develop and grow faithfully in the Lord, Jesus Christ, so that they are equipped to make lasting, positive impacts in the lives of those they encounter (Matt 28:19).
Mastery-based, Experiential Learning
In addition to Biblical foundations, CLHS will expand learning through experiential studies which provide students a variety of hands-on opportunities to identify and advance their unique talents. The breadth of these opportunities will vary depending on grade level and interests of the student, but they will include a blend of coursework, project-based learning, and real-world exposure to careers and trades. And in a mastery-based model, progression will be based on demonstrated competence, optimizing learning according to each student’s individual abilities.
Socratic Instruction
The final element in the CLHS education model is to employ Socratic teaching principles to empower students to own their learning experience. Through this guided instruction, students will receive a dynamic educational experience that prompts them to prepare, participate, listen, question, reason, and respond to become more respectful, competent, discerning leaders.

Offer advanced academic courses and career academies
Provide internship opportunities
Be amplified through socratic instruction
Advance students according to individual mastery
We are excited to pursue our next steps for providing a relevant and meaningful Christian education in the 21st century through a dynamic, comprehensive learning model. Through their experience at CLHS, students will graduate with confidence in their unique God-given talents and discernment for God’s purpose for their lives.
