As Lamentations reminds us, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is His faithfulness.”
As Christ Lutheran High School takes shape, we have seen God’s mercies again and again: in a facility secured, in families who believe in the mission, and now in the leader He has provided. We are blessed to welcome Dr. Ben Troge as our principal. He is an educator, administrator and lifelong Lutheran, and he has already helped build a high school from the ground up.
Dr. Ben Troge (Troh-jee) was born in Jacksonville, Florida, and spent most of his formative years in New Ulm, Minnesota. He earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Martin Luther College in 2002. That same year, Ben and his wife, Katy, moved to Orlando, Florida, where he began a 24-year career in education.
From 2002 to 2025, Ben taught and served as an administrator at three private schools in Florida, between Orlando and Miami. During that time, he helped establish a high school as part of a K–8 Lutheran school. He earned a master’s degree from Belhaven University in 2006 and a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from Concordia University in 2019.
Ben and Katy have been married for nearly 26 years and are blessed with five children: four daughters and one son. Their eldest graduated from the United States Naval Academy in May and serves as an officer aboard the USS Howard, stationed in Japan. Their second-oldest works as an esthetician and nail technician in Cedar Falls. Their three youngest live at home and are in 10th, 7th, and 6th grades.
The Troges are lifelong Lutherans. After belonging to the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod until 2025, they moved to Raymond, Iowa, and joined Our Redeemer Lutheran Church (LCMS) in Cedar Falls.
Outside of education, Ben is an avid sports fan, especially of the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers. The Troge family enjoys traveling throughout the United States and camping at state and national parks, where they marvel at God’s natural beauty. They have also visited every major Civil War battlefield from Pennsylvania to Georgia. Ben enjoys reading about American history and has an extensive collection of historical books. In his free time, he also enjoys weightlifting and hunting when the opportunity arises.
We give thanks to God for His providence in bringing Dr. Troge to Christ Lutheran High School. Please join us in praying for Ben, Katy and their children as they settle into this new chapter, and for the students and families he will serve. We look forward to all the Lord will do through his leadership with eager anticipation.
